IM SPAZIO: THE SPACE OF THOUGHTS is a curatorial and spatial exploration of the private collection of gallerist Daniella Luxembourg, brought to life within Sotheby’s galleries.  Conceived as both a salon and an homage to post-war Italian art, the exhibition draws on the spirit of Arte Povera and the radical material experiments that defined the era.

Referencing the spirit of Arte Povera, the exhibition explores the intertextuality and informality of materials—both within the works and in the space itself. Featuring artists such as Lucio Fontana, Pino Pascali, and Michelangelo Pistoletto, the collection navigates between painterly surfaces and sculptural volume, emphasizing raw textures, scale, and spatial relationships. The design engages with these dialogues by using elemental materials and intuitive placement, encouraging viewers to move through the space as they would through a thought—wandering, reflecting, connecting. Each artwork is positioned not only in relation to the room but also in conversation with the others, the result is a spatial composition that honors both the intimacy of a private collection and the avant-garde legacy of a transformative era in Italian art.
